These are all shots of the pattern of shadows made by various cacti and potted tropical plants around the pool of Hotel Nirvana in the tiny beach resort of Pie de la Cuesta, half an hour out of Acapulco. Only the first shot however is displaying natural colours. For the rest, I have been experimenting with different tints and colours....
And of course there is always the more purist black and white monochrome option...
What do you think?? Any preferences?? For more glorious shadow shots around the world this week check out Hey Harriet by clicking here...

I like the 4th one but especially the last. Your photography is fantastic. I really must take more advantage of being in Asia and take my camera out and about more often.
Hope you're well. I love reading your blog - it's a great connection to good old Mexico! xxx
Catherine,
This post is a real winner. These photos are beautiful.
Antoinette - so great to hear from you!! and so nice to know you are reading regularly...why don't you start one in Vietnam?? would love to read more about the country and see more photos...What do you think??
Bob - thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such a great comment - much appreciated!!
Great shots. I love the thrid retouched shot, it loos like the shadows could be in a pool of water.
Fantastic shadow shots! Just beautiful! And how fun to play with the colors! Definitely a winner here! Happy SSS! and have a lovely weekend!
Lovely! I like the natural one and also the aqua blue ones.
I can really see here that you have a wonderful sun peeping out *wink
Great shadows...Magnifique shots!

Spectacular! I like the first one.
We thought the first was our favorite....but as we kept going we found that we loved them all. The purple tint is great - very unusual!
I love the pink and yellow one! Thanks for sharing, also for stopping by my blog.
Very cool! I love them all! :-)
Catherine, I like each of your shots better than the last--they make me feel as though I'm in a candy shop! Love the pink the best. :D Thanks for commenting on my blog--happy weekend!
wow..........what a great shot. i like the fourth one best.
All of your cacti shadows are fun! I do like all of the coloured ones, but I'm leaning towards the b&w as my favourite. The coloured ones would look very pretty all collaged together! Happy weekend to you :)
Those cacti make great shadows. So clear! I like them all but if I have to choose I'd go for the picture with the yellow background but the red background looks good too. Making a choice is hard!
Enjoy your Sunday!
Hi,
I meant to write that about the exhibition!-I wished it was permanent too. He had a lot of trouble getting permission from some of the building owners in the first place apparently.
I love the different background colours. They give such a distinct perspective in each shot. My favourite one if the monochrome, though. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
Beautiful sun filtering through shadows, we have lots of rain this weekend, so it's nice to see the sun exists!
These are truly beautiful shadow shots!
fantastic shadows in a variety of tints
wonderful!
The shadows and colors set my imagination awhirl! I need to go write some poems now. Thank you!
They are all quite wonderful, but I like the turquoise shot the best because it looks like I could dive into water!
