Another place I never tire of going for the weekend from Mexico City is the gorgeous colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, four hours from DF. Whilst I was there last weekend, it was uncharacteristically cloudy all day on Saturday, then the sun broke through at six o'clock to produce some of the most wonderful late afternoon shadows I have ever seen in Mexico...
The red, white and green bunting was still up from Independence celebrations the Wednesday before, creating some lovely additional shadows, but it was the skull on the wall that really caught my eye that day....

great shadow shot. love it.
excellent shadows. I apprecfiate the colors of the wall. It feels like Mexico
The sun light that you get in Mexico casts much sharper shadows than we seem to get in Northern Europe. I have not commented on one of your shadow shot features before because I cannot think of something relevant to say about them but I do enjoy this feature.

Oh, yes, that's my town! What a wonderful year I spent there! And your terrific shots brought back many memories. Love the colors and the sun!
Have a great weekend!

Great shadows...great collage!
The animal seems to have four horns. The shadows over the tan surface really stand out
These ARE great shadows! And there beauty is heightened by the colour of the walls.
That cow skull shadow is great. I have very fond memories of San Miguel Allende...haven't been there in 24 years, though, so I don't know how it's changed.
That is a wonderful picture!
wonderful shots, lovely colours. The skull reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe
Thanks for stopping by. actually, the snow picture was taken in December 2003 (I think). Too early for snow now!
How's the sweet lady in a big taco land?
It seems your enjoying your life to the fullest overthere as I can see.
Very nice shots... sun looks friendly that invites you the perfect shots.
Have a blissful day.
Love all of those shadows! I wish I could tag along on your fun adventures! My camera would sure get a good workout in your colourful world!
Great colours and it looks like it hs 4 horns.
Wonderful shadow shots. I really like the flags in your collage...
Lovely colours and that skull is great!
These are indeed gorgeous, love the colors and the mosaic.
Catherine - what great luck that the sun came out. The shadows of the banners are really something. I loved your blog - Remember to bring about 30 layers of clothing to Boston in January. When you're down at the harbor and the wind is blowing about about 40 miles per hour, non-stop it's so impossible to get warm.
Catherine....the color is fantaistic in these shadow shots! Wow ~ what a sight!
(guess we were both feeling the skull vibs this weekend!)
Happy SSS!
so glad you all liked the skull this week!! Thanks for all your appreciative comments this week...
Thanks so much for stopping by my site and leaving a comment.
Your pics are tantalizing me to visit Mexico as soon as possible.
Blessings

Marvellous. For some reason it always makes me wonder what it was thinking before it was killed. Or the expression on its face :-).
Greetings from London.
