Shadow Shot Sunday 26 - San Miguel de Allende

Another place I never tire of going for the weekend from Mexico City is the gorgeous colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, four hours from DF. Whilst I was there last weekend, it was uncharacteristically cloudy all day on Saturday, then the sun broke through at six o'clock to produce some of the most wonderful late afternoon shadows I have ever seen in Mexico...

The red, white and green bunting was still up from Independence celebrations the Wednesday before, creating some lovely additional shadows, but it was the skull on the wall that really caught my eye that day....

The sun light that you get in Mexico casts much sharper shadows than we seem to get in Northern Europe. I have not commented on one of your shadow shot features before because I cannot think of something relevant to say about them but I do enjoy this feature.

The animal seems to have four horns. The shadows over the tan surface really stand out

That cow skull shadow is great. I have very fond memories of San Miguel Allende...haven't been there in 24 years, though, so I don't know how it's changed.

Thanks for stopping by. actually, the snow picture was taken in December 2003 (I think). Too early for snow now!

How's the sweet lady in a big taco land?

It seems your enjoying your life to the fullest overthere as I can see.

Very nice shots... sun looks friendly that invites you the perfect shots.

Have a blissful day.

Catherine - what great luck that the sun came out. The shadows of the banners are really something. I loved your blog - Remember to bring about 30 layers of clothing to Boston in January. When you're down at the harbor and the wind is blowing about about 40 miles per hour, non-stop it's so impossible to get warm.

Marvellous. For some reason it always makes me wonder what it was thinking before it was killed. Or the expression on its face :-).

Greetings from London.
