Shadow Shot Sunday 47 - Mexico City

I didn't have to travel far for this week's shadow shot - in fact, just as far as the carpark in my building which was displaying a veritable optical illusion of stripes and angles from the gates and shadows....

The shots remind me of the Op Art work of British artist Bridget Riley, and I quite like them in sepia too....

What do you think?? For more optical illusory shadowplay check out Shadow Shot Sunday by clicking here....Have fun!!

The artistry is stunning in this world of shadows. The diagonal stripes are busy, maybe even confusing to our eyes. But we continue to look at the strong and artistic shadows. A wonderful capture!

Fantastic, Catherine! You do get some of the greatest shadow shots! Of course, Mexico you're blessed with lots of sun and that makes shadow shopping all the more fun! Have a great weekend!

Yes! Op art! Sigh...your images always give me shadow envy! They are so intense and always lots of pattern and play.

What a fantastic quilt your images would make. If you're not a quilter, maybe you should think about it!

Very clever! You have an eye for the unusual. They're absolutely great.

Very effective optical illusionary images - it is difficult keeping the eye focused! Do you remember when an
artist put green and red together, how that jiggled the
spectrum. When you visit NYC, do let one of us know!

The first thing I though of when I saw your photos was that they reminded me of Bridget Riley's works. Then, I saw that you already noticed that. I taught art for 32 years and one of my students' favorite projects was to create op art. Fantastic photos. You've create your own op masterpieces with these.

How great that you are teaching in Mexico. I taught English in Brazil for several years ---40 years ago. I plan to visit some of my former students on my first trip back to Brazil later this year.

Check out my shadows this week HERE.

Sorry I only just saw these now, but I'm glad I did! Those are fantastic shots, they should be hanging in a museum somewhere :)
Well found and captured!
