Shadow Shot Sunday 55 - Tlacotalpan

I've written a lot about this town this week, and have chosen this shadow shot because it is such a contrast to the rest of Tlacotalpan. This is the dark, shadowy market where little sunlight enters, and it is very hard to see what is for sale in its murky depths. I like the dog strolling in, the symmetry of the patterns above and below, and the different sombre tones and textures. This is what the rest of the town looks like.... an absolute riot of colour.....such a contrast!!

As usual, top quality. And I liked the solitary dog in the picture.

Greetings from Kuala Lumpur.

the arch doorway is lovely in light and shadow.

I love the arch, too, and the starkness of the shadows in comparison to all the other colorful buildings. The dog is the perfect touch! Always love your photos, Catherine! Hope you have a great weekend!

Agreed the inside is dark, although the darkness does not deter the dog. The beautiful exterior in its soft pastel colors compel us to stop by. What beautiful and delicate architecture...

The rest of town is mighty colourful! You are really lucky to be living in such a fabulous place!

Reminds me a bit of Nocturne Alley in the Harry Potter books - a quiet, dark place where shadowy dealings are done. Nice shadow in that entrance!

That first image is wonderful, particularly with the dog, and the second image I just want to eat!

Gosh that is quiet the contrast! I just love the dog wandering into frame. He totally makes that shot! Did you bribe him with doggie market treats? ;D

That is a strange contrast. That archway looks spooky, while the rest of the town looks joyful and welcoming.
