Shadow Shot Sunday 119 - Place Garibaldi, Nice.

The architecture in Nice is particularly appealing, and on a hot September afternoon, the shadows of the shutters add another dimension to the interest of the facades. For more shadow shots this week, click here for Shadow Shot Sunday. Enjoy!!

I've never seen shutters open and hang upwards like that. but they surely do create some interesting shadows. happy weekend to you Catherine. you live in a gorgeous spot.

Love those shutters....and the yellow - fantastic! Laughed at your "Mellow Yellow" post...every week my kids pick out a word from the dictionary, we read what it means & then they have to try to use it during the week....guess what this weeks word is? MELLOW :) funny!!

I love the picture of the shutters too. At first I thought they were stripey curtains. thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog site

I see the shadows followed you to the Mediterranean. Wonderful for you, and for us.

I really like the window shutters - in the US, the shutters doe not shut and are merely decorative. Nicely captured!

Several decades ago, I had been to Europe, Germany near the French border, Saar region. What I thought was so cool is that the architecture changed markedly between countries - France had its own architecture, Germany looked German. The style of the building in Nice is beautiful - ant totally in the style of the country...

Window shutters that actually work rather than being for decorative purposes are just so divinely European. (I can speak that way as we are, after all, on the Riviera, n'est-ce pas?)
I love how the shadows look like curtains billowing out the open windows. Well-spotted, Catherine...or should I say striped.
