Shadow Shot Sunday 123 - Nice

There have been some wonderful sunsets recently here on the Riviera - many from my apartment terrace, but this one is over the Baie des Anges walking into Nice along the Promenade des Anglais......

Shooting straight into the sun has created these lovely dark silhouettes of people enjoying watching the sunset, coming out of the water, and heading into the path of the sun aboard the boat.....

The beautiful orange shades, and palm trees give the shots a feeling of North Africa which is of course just across the water....

For more shadow shots this week, click here for Shadow Shot Sunday hosted by Tracy in Brisbane...

Enjoy! ......and don't hesitate to visit the French Riviera if you get the chance - it is a beautifully stunning piece of coastline!

I just came over from Jilly's blog after reading your comments. Surfed through your blog and am impressed with your photographic skills. You and Jilly should have a fine time together! I taught English in a small college prep school in St. Paul, MN for 28 years before I retired, and had it not been for marriage and family, I, too, would have loved to have taught abroad. Don't regret it too much since I travelled a good deal, but then again...

I'd urge you to blog with CDP, too, but you'd have a hard time using only one photo a day.

Hope you have wonderful experiences in your new location!

Wow! Man alive! That was a superb sunset and one to which I wouldn't mind going out on a run.

Read a lovely article today in The Saturday Guardian Travel section about Mexico and its relationship with artists and bohemians.

Greetings from London.

Your silhouettes are enchanting!

SHADOW, SHADOW
(With apologies to William Blake)

Shadow, shadow lurking dark
In a corner of the park,
What immortal eye can see
Your transcendent symmetry?

Truly gorgeous water and shadows. You live in a very fascinating place. I had the privilege of being there once, and enjoyed it very much.

I like the silhouettes of the people especially. It looks so relaxed there! Which tickets have you got for the olympics? We applied for loads but only got two-to equestrian eventing. I am glad we got something!

What fabulous photos - I want to get on the next plane to see the sunsets for myself. The last time I was in Francxe was in Aix-en-Provence - I had a wonderful time, and hope to go back one day.

Gorgeous shots. You've gone from one idyllic place to another. I like the background color of the blog as well, it's my favorite shade of blue.

More beautiful collages showing your stunning sunsets. Sunrises and sunsets always seem (and doubtless are) more dramatic as winter approaches.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Look forward to a meeting one day.
