During my recent Christmas trip to London the sun appeared only the once on Monday January 2nd, whilst I was visiting my house to see if the new tenants were settling in without any problems, giving me the opportunity to capture these strong shadows in the park opposite........
The park has been taken over by a local community group called "Friends of Inwood Park" and in the past few years they have lovingly restored it from a rundown, dilapidated, and uninviting place to the peaceful and pleasant landscaped green asset it is today.....
My little Edwardian cottage is tucked away in the middle of that terrace overlooking the park....For more shadow shots from around the world click here for the new Shadow Shot Sunday. Enjoy!!

What a lovely place! I'm sure you had a great trip and holiday at home! Terrific captures as always, Catherine. Hope your new year is off to a great start!

The words "edwardian cottage" make me dream! I'm in love with english cottages and have plenty of books about them! The " friends of the park" made a great work there, it seems to be a very pleasant place now!
How wonderful to have that great green space right in front of your house. One day of sunshine during your visit home? Well, I guess the gloomier weather was a bit of a welcome respite from all that brilliant sunshine of the French riviera!
winter parks are great for throwing shadows
I guess that London is known for its gray and fog. So, being prepared for the one clear and shadowy day is important and you were ready! Beautiful city shadows with more than a mere hint of green. Nicely captured!
An interesting variety of shadows! Wonderful to hear of a community willing to beautify a neglected area!
What a charming location! You took good advantage of the sunshine and got lots of nice shadows.
Definitely beautiful shadows you've found!
Come find out the origin of my shadow last week.
Like Malyss, I couldn't resist "Edwardian cottage"! How wonderfully romantic it sounds.
It sounds as if the new tenants didn't give you any trouble, and you had plenty of time to visit the park to capture the shadows for which you're known!

The time of long shadows is my favorite time of the day. Nice.
What a chance to have a home like this waiting for you, the day you get tired of the French Riviera! ... and as I understand, during your absence, the place has got even more attractive! :-)
Ok for saturday, 21st in Nice!
What time, what place? What do you think of Place Massena, in front of the fountain?Tell me if it's OK and Choose your time.
I'm impatient to meet you!
I love your collages. They are put together beautifully. That first shot has to be my favorite of all of them. That one LONG shadow with all of its appendages stretched out on the wall is awesome. What a great post. genie
Lucky you were at the ready with your camera when the sun shone, Catherine!
WHEN YOU SEE THE SHADOWS DANCE
When you see the shadows dance,
Be it Mexico or France,
You may join the shadow fun,
Dancing till the day is done!
