Strolling along the South Bank in London is one of my favourite things to do, especially in this festive Olympic atmosphere, and when the sun is shining the shadows come out to play....Start at the Festival Hall with the London Eye in the background and the cafe tables creating a polka dot shadow pattern,,,,,
Progress along in front of the British Film Theatre and find these lovely dappled patterns from the shady horse chestnut trees....
Get along as far as the Oxo Tower and Tate Modern where these geometric shadow patterns are awaiting you....
...If you are tired you can relax on the beach at Gabriel's Wharf with the view of the Gherkin and St Paul's behind you....
...Or stretch out on the very popular giant green sofas and armchairs in front of the National Theatre where there is always some great free summer entertainment..
Olympic London is looking and feeling just fabulous right now in sun or shadow....but of course I am biased because it is my home town, and wherever else I may live temporarily, London is always home. For more shadow shots this week, click HERE for Shadow Shot Sunday. Enjoy!!

Oh, and what a wonderful look at your beautiful home city, Catherine! I love your photos and how wonderful it would be to visit London!! I can feel your excitement and delight!! Continue the fun!!!
How relaxing the city seems, the normal hustle somehow muted on this day. Sun and shadow in many geometric patterns are artistic. Hope the Olympics are going along well...
seems like a rather empty place right now.
I heard on the radio that tourists fears London right now and that shops are loosing a lot of money de to the olympics. And the buses, for once, are without traffic problems. :)
Looks beautiful.
p.s. congrats on your gold medals tonight!!
I feel homesick!
those sofas in front of the theater
are awesome!! bet they are in high demand to sit on!!!
Wonderful variety of shadow shapes! Like the polka dot shadows! Dramatic art!
Thanks for allowing me to see a part of the world I will never see otherwise. Nice tour.
All those little round shadows: I just want to pick them up and bounce them! :)
I love that first shot a lot!
My shadows

That outdoor cafe shot is great...love it :) Love those huge green chairs and sofas too...it has been forever since I've been to London, so it is so good to see!!
Cool geometric shadow shots.
It must be quite exciting to have so many Olympians and fans there.
I loved the Tate Modern when I visited London briefly in 2005. Loved it!!
I had a chance to go on the Eye, but I was kinda scared. My daughter went on it with her friends.
She had fun.
Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for all your lovely comments this week....
