Shadow Shot Sunday 168 - Ventimiglia Vista

The snow-covered mountains make for a beautiful view from the shadowy rooftops of Ventimiglia the border town between France and Italy on the Riviera. Ventimiglia is well worth a visit on Fridays when the streets are taken over by one of the largest open-air markets in the region. From cheeses and pasta to designer handbags and knitwear it veritably exudes the spirit of Italy...

There is an intriguing old town to wander through which I have posted about before, a seafront, and many outdoor cafes and restaurants which all make it the perfect day trip - and if you catch it on a fine Autumn day like I did last week make sure you have your camera......

Ventimiglia is 40 minutes by train from Nice, and if you want to see more shadow shots, click here for Shadow Shot Sunday. Enjoy!!

Bonjour Catherine. Thank you for stopping by chez French Girl today! I would love to visit V. next time I am staying in Nice. My only complaint about this colorful post: I could not blow up the photos of the market to see them better... A bientot. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Oh, my! Your images sure spark the wanderlust in me, that's for sure. And then you throw in the food elements of the open air market and I'm a goner!

What a charming town perched above the sea. To an American, when we think of Italy we think of style - and this market has it completely. The red tile roof works very well with the shadowy to show charm and style...

Hello Catherine and thank you for stopping by my blog!
I remember a small Spanish town where we stopped to see the market but this one has such a beautiful back drop of snow capped mountains it is perfect with the shadow shot for today!

Ahhh... you gotta love open markets, don't you? Great photos and how I wish I could be there, browsing around and holding crafts in my hand.

Many thanks.

Greetings from London.

The name alone makes me want to visit the town, but your photos and commentary convince me that I must.
