Shadow Shot Sunday 174 - Cros de Cagnes

We have had some gorgeous weather over the festive season here on the Riviera, characterised most strongly by these vibrant blue Riviera winter skies. These shots are taken on the lovely open  and spacious promenade which links the small fishing village of Cros de Cagnes and Cagnes-sur-mer. Above is one of the beachfront restaurants, and below is a selection of views and vistas along the promenade.....

After strolling along the promenade you can take the free shuttle bus (la navette) up from Cagnes Ville to the Medieval hilltop village of Haut de Cagnes where you can visit the Chateau Grimaldi  housing an olive museum and art galleries and boasting a wonderful panoramic view from its tower. Then descend to the narrow cobbled streets and alleyways for a delicious lunch - more in the next post. In the meantime check out Shadow Shot Sunday for more photography - Enjoy!! Happy New Year 2013!!

Happy 2013 to you too! The azure sky does not feel like a winter day, but a warm day instead - minus the cold temps of the day at home, I feel transformed by the warm Mediterranean!

Love how the shadows are illumined by light all round them! And those carriages have so much character and whimsy! Love them!

Wonderful shadows effects from those rick-shaws Catherine .. I spent some time in Vence a few years ago and often caught the local bus down to Cagnes-Sur-Mer.
It's such a beautiful corner of the world.

That sky is such a nostalgic hue of blue {the skies here this far North from the equator no longer get that blue this time of year}
You seem to live on a slice of paradise...lucky you.
Cheers.

Wow so very clean shots, and the colors are so peaceful. I also browsed on older posts, so thanks for sharing them as I might not be able to visit the Riviera in this lifetime. Happy New Year!

Hello Catherine and what a gorgeous place to walk and enjoy some great food ! .. I love those peddle carriages it took me a few minutes to realize that was how they worked!LOL
I remember thinking the skies were so blue where we stayed at Loret de Mar on the coast of Spain in a typical tourist trap but it was pretty : )
