This might look like a sinister still from a menacing horror sci-fi movie, but it is in fact the interior of the new Qatar National Convention Centre where I recently took students for a Model United Nations Conference. (see previous post for shots of the stunning branch-spreading facade) Pictured here is one of Louise Bourgeois' spider sculptures that you can also find in the turbine hall at Tate Modern and outside the Guggenheim in Bilbao. I liked the way that the reflection extended the spider's legs and made it look like it was menacingly on the move.....For more reflections, click here

What an awesome reflection, Catherine, and a superb capture! Wow! I love it! What a great trip you and your class must have had! Enjoy your weekend!!
I've already seen this spider, but the way you frame it in the beautiful qatari architecture is really wonderful!(and yes, a bit scary.. Ü)
I enjoyed your pictures from Qatar, we seldom have possibility to see this country, that's very Interesting! Thank you!
hm, I´ve seen this spider before. In a science program I think. :) Nice catch.
It looks like my biggest nightmare : a giant spider... With the reflection on the floor, it looks even bigger ! Brrr...
Your photo is wonderful, especially with the great reflection. I just wondering where my giant can of Raid is?
Great photo. I bet the kids loved the excursion. My class would be over the moon.
Impressionnant ! ;o)
Great reflection but what a sinister subject ! This giant spider looks like it's coming out of a nightmare !
