This architectural detail comes from a doorway in the pretty Cotswolds town of Tetbury which is very near to Kemble, the source of the Thames where I started my hike along the river trail a few weeks ago......
The town is characterised by buildings in fine honey-coloured Cotswold stone - a pretty high street, marketplace, church spire, village green and ivy-clad cottages with steep cobbled steps - quintessential rural England!!

Great shadow shots for the day, Catherine! I always love the wrought iron shadows!! Hope your weekend is going well!
How charming! The American idea of England (the UK really) is one of stone and thatch. Not sure if that's always the case in all of its structures, but the charm of the really old days is something I can almost feel in all of these nice photos!
Like my hubby said, one can almost feel the olde England charm in your photos!
thanks for stopping by today
Nice shadows shapes in your photos.

The buildings and their shadows are lovely!
Shadowy Ruins
I very much like the pointy shadows the roofs make on the road.
Bringing back fond memories of when I lived in the UK.
lovely set of shadowed patterns!
Love this glance of the Cotswolds, a place I dream of visiting "some day."
