Shadow Shot 29 - Think Pink!!

I am back in the vibrant world of colour this week, round the other side of that monochrome hotel forecourt from last week. This is the bright pink and yellow facade of the Hotel Camino Real in Polanco, Mexico City, most famed for its starring role in the film "Matador" which produced Pierce Brosnan prancing around in cowboy boots and a dodgy moustache.....

The Camino Real somehow, against all the odds, manages to carry off with great panache and style the strident colour clash of yellow and pink. I am not sure if this colour combination would work quite so well anywhere else in the world!!

And whilst I am in the mood for hot pink, I will leave you with a final shadow shot; a shot of plant shadows against the wall artificially enhanced with a strong dose of the colour of the week....

Inadvertently you have joined a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer. It is all around wearing pink. So your beautiful and colourful post has served a double function this time: artistic and social. Many thanks. This post, specifically, should be included in the maths syllabus. The shapes are fantastic!

Greetings from London.

You are so right that those colours would only work in Mexico. Or at least a tropical place with the strong sunlight. Gorgeous.

These are great! Especially the first one! When I saw your post title I immediately thought breast cancer awareness just as Cuban had. I think because the campaign is happening this month it was fresh on my mind. You timed it perfectly without even realising! How cool!

I don't think I've seen that Matador film. I've seen a film called Matador made by Pedro Almodovar but I don't recall Pierce Brosnan being in it. Must be two different films. Or the same film and I missed the scenes featuring Pierce B :)

Love those colours - they make me happy! This is all very op art to me - sort of '70s abstract - so terrific!!

Lovely, lovely color combination. I don't think they clash at all. But I'm sure the bright Mexican sun and spirit helps to make it seem far from unusual.

Pretty in pink they say, this is pretty indeed. Love the shadows as well.

I'm too keen on the colour (red-green colour blindness so it probably looks different to me that it does it you) but love the shape of the shadows.

Hey harriet - glad yo like the pink shadows this week for cancer campaign too of course - Matador is a very cheesey film - nothing at all to do with the great Spanish director you mention
