Shadow Shot Sunday 45 - Moroccan Pavillion, DF

The interplay of complex, intricate shadows on the day I visited the Moroccan Pavillion (see previous post) in the plaza of Santa Maria La Ribera was really quite beautiful to behold......

The patterns on the floor of the Pavillion's interior reminded me of the flower carpets I saw on the streets at Semana Santa in Antigua, Guatemala, but I also liked the bolder, and more dramatic shadow statements thrown by the arches of the building....

Which set do you prefer??? For more fun with shadows check out Shadow Shot Sunday by clicking here. In the meantime here is a reminder of the beautiful building responsible for generating this week's shadows.....

The wrought iron railings leave an almost floral arrangement of shadows. The arches add another dimension to the tile pattern on the floor. The Spanish style of the building is so old world, a classy and timeless architecture!

Marvelous shots as always Catherine! I always love the wrought iron photos, they're always so many varied patterns in those in Mexico. Gorgeous building! Hope your weekend is going well!

At first view I though I was seeing rugs. Wouldn't these shapes make gorgeous designs on carpets? Wonderfully crisp shadows!

What a grand looking building! I love both types of shadows but I think I prefer the ones cast from the arches best.

I love these crisp geometric shadow patterns. The mosaics work really well. If I had to choose I would choose the first set, but both are good.

Great photos of the kiosko morisco in Col. Santa Maria la Ribera. I live across the street from the park where the kiosko is located. Here is a NY Times article of the neighborhood: http://travel.nytimes.com/2008/08/31/travel/31surfacing.html
