Shadow Shot Sunday 109 - Santa Maria La Ribera, DF

Where would you find these lovely green shadows in Mexico City??

Well they are on the walls of just an ordinary city apartment block on Calle Santa Maria La Ribera - but on the way to my favourite square in the whole of the city..........

Tucked away in the heart of the very ordinary working class neighbourhood of La Ribera is this gorgeous gem of a square - complete with Moroccan Pavillion. Last Saturday, as I arrived here, there was a full orchestra inside playing music most sublime - Such serendipity and just another reason to enjoy wandering the streets of Mexico City....

You have an unmatched knack for finding shadows, Catherine. These look like artworks on the side of an apartment building. Wonderful.

You know, before I even read your comments, I thought to myself: this can't be possible. Green shadows? The effect is mesmerising. I kept looking at your stunning photos for a good ten minutes. Many thanks.

Greetings from London.

Your ShadowShots from Mexico are always so beautiful. Will you miss Mexico City when you move?? I'm looking forward to exciting shots from Moracco. It's fun seeing these places through your camera's eye. Happy SSS.

The mundane apartment flats are not necessarily stylish, allowing comfort in the living arrangements - all the residents seek.

But a plaza like this is beautiful, a stunning gathering place. This place thus allows the residents to leave the comfortable flats and mingle is a wonderful setting. So nice!

Aren't you going to miss Mexico?

I ONCE HAD A SHADOW

I once had a shadow—or did she have me?
My shadow and I could never agree.
I would say something, she’d say the reverse;
Our arguments flared, my lips I would purse,
Refusing to speak to her anymore—
So my shadow got up and marched out the door!
I have not seen her from that day to this—
That’s one stubborn shadow I surely don’t miss!

It's such a sweet yummy shade of green. I'd love to live in an area surrounded with so much gorgeous colour! If feeling a little blue, I'd just step outside and be cheered up by all the happy colours! Enjoy the rest of your weekend Catherine :)

Maybe in the colourful world of Mexico a green apartment buildng is ordinary, but not so much in my part of the world! The tree shadows look like artwork.

Visiting the Moroccan Pavillion and listening to the music pouring forth must be like stepping back into another time.
What delightful strolls you take!
