This Sunday I will be bidding farewell to Mexico after living here in Mexico City for six years and teaching Literature at a British International School. I have had a wonderful time being here and exploring as much of the city and country as possible.....
This is rather a poignant post for me as these shots depict my apartment, dubbed the Red Palace, but now stripped of colour and empty of everything except for these black venetian blinds casting their striking shadows across the white floor....
I hope my next posting at the International School of Monaco, and life on the French Riviera (specifically in the resort town of Cap D'Ail) will provide me with the necessary inspiration to keep on blogging. ....Only time will tell...... In the meantime, however, check out the rest of the shadow shots this week by clicking here. Enjoy!

Bon voyage...
I hope you have a safe trip, that your new home and position will be everything you could hope for, Catherine! I do so look forward to posts and photos! Enjoy, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!

Moving brings out the emotions of us all. Change from the known to the unknown is difficult, yet the memories of where we were stay with us always. The final shadows are neat and artistic - yet the Riviera has lots of sun, too. So, shadows will be captured agan, npo doubt!
Good luck with your move - I'm sure that you will find plenty to inspire you to keep on blogging!
Bon voyage et bonne arrivée!
Best wishes for your future. I always loved the glimpses of Mexico you showcased through your blog. Am sure your experience at the French Rivera will be just as happy.
I wish you all the best, Catherine! I hope you DO keep on blogging because I think you have a great eye for photography!

Very good photos.
Good luck and I expect new photos from you :)
I spent some extra moments this morning viewing some of your past shadow shots, bidding them a fond farewell, as my time is always so short with the gardening(and chickens),but I await anxiously for your return and the new adventures we'll be hearing about...safe trip! I can't imagine having a job that would acclimate myself to so many wonderful peoples and places all over the world, you're a lucky girl!
HAVE FUN!!!

I hope you will find inspiration for blogging in the Riviera, Catherine.
I have enjoyed your photos of Mexico so much, and will miss the small fish in the big taco, a lot.

Great shadow shots!
It is hard to leave a place, especiallyone that has been so vivid! May yourstay in Monaco be as special!
To follow you in Mexicio and around has been a great pleasure! Well, where you are moving is not a bad choice either, and Paris, Italy and a number of nice places are not far away! ... so, please keep blogging!
You can't imagine how much I will miss your regular columns about and images of Mexico. What I enjoyed above all was your knowledge and respect. This is one of those blogs that deserves to be published. If I was one, I would be opening my chequebook right now (mind you, they don't use cheques in the UK anymore).
Have a safe trip to wherever you're going and please, please, let me know about your next adventure. I'm sure it will be as engrossing as this one.
Greetings from London.
I feel like crying. Your posts on Mexico were always so vivid and inspiring. I can't believe it's over. Have a safe journey to Monaco, I'm sure you'll find inspiration there as well. (I hope.)
