Go to the East Village in NY and immerse yourselves in the tranquil oases of the community gardens which provide serene havens from the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple. Find a quiet corner like this one, sit on the bench, gaze at the rock sculpture...and just enjoy the peace of this dappled retreat. "Dappled" is the perfect word to describe your shadow shot today!
COMPADRES
Shadows above me,
Shadows below;
Some shadows swift and
Some shadows slow;
All of these shadows,
It’s plain to see,
Are my compadres—
Sweet company!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, such an inviting photo. Well done. And being that you found this tranquil spot in NYC makes it all the more perfect.

Have a terrific Sunday.
What a terrific capture, Catherine! And such a wonderfully peaceful place -- and int NYC!! These days we all need places like this! I love the word "Dappled" for this one, too! Have a great week!

Beautiful, beautiful shot. I wish you success in France. I look forward to the "Small Fish in the Big Riviera" blog! :-)
Greetings from London.
This is a beautiful shadow shot! I love the dappled effect the leaves made.
Wonderful shadow shot and it makes me miss the Village (being an ex-New Yorker). It even feels like the Village! :D
Wow, that was a shift to go from Mexico back I assume home to NYC!
Thanks for sharing...
Hugs,

Cool Catherine! Few people think of NYC as a peaceful haven, but as you say, the village has it's quiet nooks and crannies!
Any time! Have only been to NYC once and it was truly a dream come true. Would have welcomed a quiet corner such as this to rest my blistered feet. Next time, I guess, should I be so lucky.
Dappled... I like that word. It does seem to fit your photo very well. Very Nice!!
Very nice shadow shot.
Regards!

Wonderful NYC shadows! Have you moved into your new place yet?
Very lovely. NY has a lot of beautiful green spaces that are so unexpected in such a big city.
