Revelling on the Riviera.....

It may be September, but summer is still blazing strong and sweet here on the Riviera. Schools may have returned, but there are still plenty of folk who can make it to the beach and stretch out under all those umbrellas.........

I love photographing colour, and without a doubt the dominant colour on the Riviera has to be this strong blue.......the sea, the sky, the umbrellas, the seats on the promenade in Nice...all blue!

What colour is on your mind this week??

Grey. Like the skies here. We also had lots of grey skies in Cornwall recently.

What I liked the most about your photo is that all those brollies look as if they had been arranged by a choreographer. Beautiful shots. Many thanks.

Greetings from London.

Bonjour Catherine,
Thank you for visiting my blog over the weekend. You are one lucky girl to be living in Nice. After last month's visit, I am seriously considering retiring there. It is an amazing city, so much to do and explore even off season. Bonne chance en France. As for working in Monaco, let's just say I don't think you will find "the simple life" there. But you had probably figured that one out already. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

That sea of umbrellas reminds me of giant blue jelly fish washed up on the shore.
I live in a box of colours, so no one hue springs immediately to mind.
I can't believe all those people still on the beach!

Hi Catherine,
Mexico, America, now France. I look forward to seeing Nice through your eyes. For me the colour this week is golden yellow of September light and straw-coloured grasses.

Oh send me some of that lovely sun! I love that vibrant, cobalt blue. The color I have been focused on this week is red. It's one of my favorite colors any way but as fall approaches, I like to wear more of it to liven up the browns of the leaves and grass.
