Shadow Shot Sunday 117 - Cap D'Ail

These crazy zigzaggy shadows were found on the stunningly scenic coastal path which runs between Cap D'Ail and Monaco - a route I can actually use to walk to and from school from one country to another crossing the border. How cool is that? Plus who has a journey to work with views like this??

It is a very serene experience to walk home by the sea without seeing any cars or traffic (a little bit different from my daily commute in Mexico City). Admittedly there are quite a few stairs to climb but it would be pretty petty and somewhat churlish to dare complain!!

For more shadow shots from around the world, click here for Shadow Shot Sunday. Enjoy!

Oh, Catherine, what an incredible place!! I'd be lying if I said wasn't even just a tad envious! Your photos are the next best thing! I am SO happy for you and know you'll have a wonderful year -- hopefully more than one! Have a beautiful weekend!

OMG ! What a walk to work... seems quite unbelievable. No, I must rub my eyes and look again, I must be dreaming...

And those shadows on the stairs !

Now if you could just get a zebra to walk through there in those shadows, what a photo that would make...

I hope you have sunglasses & a scarf on (a bit of Grace Kelley) to go with the scenery Catherine!! Beautiful...although that last shot might give us a bit of vertigo!!
Enjoy your weekend!

It looks as though you are going to become the master (or mistress?) of zigzag shadow shots!

I LOVE MY SHADOW

I love my shadow,
My shadow loves me;
We chat together
And don’t disagree!

My shadow and I
Prefer not to shout
As we go walking
And rambling about.

My shadow’s so wise,
I ask what she thinks;
She’s happy to share,
And then nods and winks.

My shadow and I
Are best buds, you see;
That’s why we try hard
To always agree!

The staircases are stunning! The glorious sun on the Riviera is strong, the iron railings leaving a geometric spider web on each and every step. Cool!

The pathway alongside the Mediterranean is picturesque and lovely. I'd be late for work every day - the beautiful sights would distract my commute...

Wow! Those steps are dizzying enough as it is, but the shadows on them really enforce it! Great shots!

Incredible scenery, a wonderful sense of peace, dazzling shadows and some physical exercise thrown in for good measure? I'd better not hear you complaining!

Absolutely beautiful, Catherine. And I was thinking the same thing "so different from the traffic in Mexico City" LOL.
I'm glad you're happy with your new location. (Who wouldn't be? It is stunning.) I'm sure you'll miss the Mexican people, especially those in some of the more remote places you visited.
Speaking of visiting, thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. So nice to hear from you.
