Shadow Shot Sunday 124 - Jardin Exotique, Eze

The French Riviera is home to some of the most beautiful gardens along its coastline - often called "Jardin Exotique" they display a wealth of Mediterranean flora including a host of striking cacti in stunning locations....

This is the splendid view from the Jardin Exotique in the perched village of Eze....

It boasts an amazing range of plants and blooms interspersed with artistic sculptures...

And of course on a hot day with a bright blue sky, the shadows are strong and striking - and provide some welcome shade for a very tired tourist conked out on the bench....

For more shadow shots from around the world, check out Shadow Shot Sunday by clicking here. Enjoy!!

Oh, WOW! Incredible collages, Catherine! And what gorgeous cacti - not what I'd expect to find in France! I love it! I don't have to ask if you're enjoying your new home!! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Bonjour Catherine. Thanks for stopping by today! So glad I visited your blog. I loved Eze when I visited the village last August. I blogged about it too, but your photos are a lot better than mine ;-) Didn't you just love these elegant statues in the garden? And they each had a name! So cool. Glad the weather is still gorgeous for you. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

"Stunning locations" is right! Cool colours and warm vibes, with graceful statuary and amazing sea vistas. Oh yes, and striking interplays of shadow and light. Such lovely sights!

If we look at the cacti and the mountain and not look at the water, it feels like we are in the desert. That this dry weather plant thrives in a more humid environment is a testament to the hardy plant. What beautiful views from these terraces!

Gorgeous place, Catherine. I'm sure there are some things you miss about Mexico, but your view must more than make up for it!
Wonderful shadows there for you, too.

What a wonderful place to pursue your photographic interests! My uncle used to live in Monaco. I think I've been to this garden...I didn't have my DSL camera with me then though! Thanks for the terrific views!

Views like these are probably what the French had in mind when they recently responded to a survey by l'Insee about their level of satisfaction. A nice 7. Your photos are a a 10 out of 10. Many thanks. Different country, but same quality. :-)

Greetings from London.

What a cool place to be! I was wondering what happened to you. I lost track of you and now you're no longer in Mexico. Hope it is wonderful for you where you are. In the meantime, I love all of these wonderful collages and especially that first shadow shot.

My first link was an error, I reposted the right link later in Mr. Linky. Feel free to visit if the mood strikes.

Peace

Cacti seem so out of place along the Riviera, but what do I know?

Eze is just fantastic, almost "too much"! ... including some nice and not necessarily cheap eating places. Did you try any? :-)
