Shadow Shot Sunday 159 - Kelmscott

This week's shadow shot was taken in the beautiful lush grounds of Kelmscott Manor near Oxford. It was the countryside home of William Morris, the leading exponent of the Arts and Crafts Movement, and inside the house his beautiful wallpapers, textiles, and tapestries are on display, as well as a delightful temporary exhibition of Burne-Jones' charcoal drawings....

For more shadow shots this week, check out Shadow Shot Sunday. Enjoy!!

The bench is a nice contrast to the nature on these grounds, the angular lines and shadows a complete change from the natural shapes and shadows...this manor fits the imagination of at least this American as to what an English garden is, and this looks like one. Very beautiful and a wonderful collage!

William Morris, for whom the eponymous chair was named?

The garden is magical! William Morris was an intriguing exponent of the arts! How wonderful to wander his world of light and shadow!

I must admit to feeling a wee bit jealous of your having gone in Morris' home!
Lovely...

Kelmscott must be a delightful place! Lovely shadow of the bench. (even though it doesn't look very William Morris-like to me. lol)
