Mexico certainly is the Land of Fiesta and one of my favourite festivals is taking place right now on Reforma - La Feria de las Culturas Amigas...
Promoting first and foremost friendship between all the different cultures to be found here in Mexico City, everyone goes first and foremost for the food.....
With over 80 stalls from more than 50 different countries, it is perfectly possible to eat your way non-stop around the world from Argentina to Vietnam all in a few short hours!!
And likewise you will also meet colourful characters from all over the world...
The atmosphere is fun, festive, and friendly....
As well as the food and the people, the festival also celebrates art work from a wide variety of cultures such as these paintings by Bolivian artist Vargas...
..and there is a wealth of craft work for sale too...
...plus of course a fair smattering of music and dancing...
If you are lucky enough to live in Mexico City than this Festival runs right through next weekend as well (May 22nd/23rd)...if not then travel through the virtual world of My World Tuesday postings by clicking here....Have Fun!!

That looks like SO much fun! Eating, dancing, looking at art and crafts in a warm vibrant city with a friend as a guide. What more could I ask for? To actually be there, perhaps, but for now, your blog will have to suffice--and what a great job you do of it!
Oh dear, I was getting ready to write a little comment, and opened up the comment box, and see that Louciao (or Mad-Lynne as she is know in some circles) alrealy said about exactly what I was going to say... but that is normal, as she is my big blog sister, our thoughts are often wired up like siblings can be, so, no sense in saying it all twice; this post looks colorful, spicy, tasty, good sounds, it has it all... why am I so often envious when I come here, though I know envy is a sin...
:-)
Hi Owen - hope louciao likes her nickname!! Glad you feel envious when you stop by as with all the bad press circulating about mexico and mexico city right now the whole rationale of my blog is to point out what is so wonderful about living here - positive vibes only...glad you like them!!
It is so rich there! I love all the variety and vibrant colors and what a great way to celebrate humanity!
I never imagined that Mexico was that diverse. Yes, I've heard of its mix, but was that the Star of David in the first photo? And the colours. Your photos highlight the colourful human landscape this festival represents.
Greetings from London.
All that interesting food, I'd have a hard time not over endulging. What a colorful and informative festival.
I love fests like these. The Vargas work is stunning.
Oooh I would love to be there too.
So what was your favorite cuisine outside of Mexican.
What fun! And so colorful! Always love the music and the food and I'd be in big trouble trying to decide what to eat and end up eating it all!! Great post, marvelous photos as always, Catherine! Have a wonderful week!
