Last weekend when I visited, however, I was more taken with these chairs rather than either of the art exhibitions on display. I think they become rather cool exhibits in their own right....
And that is another major reason to visit as the architecture, design and space of the building reaches the height of contemporary coolness. These shots that look like monochrome are actually colour shots....
MUAC forms part of the UNAM Cultural Centre which includes concert halls, theatres, and a fantastic restaurant called "Azul y Oro" . It makes for a wonderful full day and evening out for culture vultures...

What lovely, different chairs! They fit well with the modern art. And they do leave wonderful shadows! Hope you have a great weekend, Catherine!

Excellent shadow shots - I would probably have spent hours moving the chairs round to form more patterns!!
frayed at the edge - I was very tempted to do just that but had already received many weird looks for photographing the chairs rather than looking at the art!!
I think these shadow shots of yours make a fine exhibit in their own right!
Chairs as pieces of art are unique. Perhaps the seating comfort might be underwhelming, but the style is artistic, a fine compromise that gives us sculpting that is pleasing on the eyes - and great shadows, too!
These chairs are unique all by themselves. The shadows really add to the photos.
A very unique design of chair. Happy Sunday!

I love the clear shadows you photograph from week to week!
Really great Shadow Shots Catherine! Clean and sharp. Happy SSS to you!
Fantastic sharp shadows (goodness, it must be hot there :-}) but I find those chairs quite threatening! (Is it me? - well, yes, of course . . . ;-})
fantastic in B&W
such clean lines and bold shadows
I thought the chairs WERE an exhibit
your photos should be displayed :)
Neat shadows!
These chairs have wonderful shadows and you were very creative in the photographing of them.
Now those are gorgeous chairs,I love your photos and the design of the chairs is so very Retro.
Well done on the shadows.
What a perfectly artful study for us shadow shooters, very classy!
Cool chairs! Cool shadows!
Cool chairs! We are entranced with the first & last picture from above - they look like micro pictures, the bolders look like pebbles, making those chairs look like they are for dolls! Fun!
Good Stuff
These are great! They do work perfectly as little art exhibits!
My family really appreciate your shots today as we adore contemporary arts.
Wow! lucky U, u visited that museum. I can imagine roaming around and see n even touch those gorgeous displays.
Enjoy & happy SS...
Exquisite shots - some artists would claim a fortune for such works.
love it!!! very cool shots!!!
Great shots of those very stylish chairs! Did you sit in them and were they comfortable? Thye look as if they would be!
The chairs are really cool, and they cast such nice shadows too!
I agree - wonderful chairs, and great shots. Love the black & white. Reminds me of Andre Kertesz.
love all the comments this week...very much appreciated!!
Modern art chairs - icons! Fantastic shots. Thanks for your visit. Try & read Searching for The Secret River, very, very interesting! Love your post on the graves of Cornish tin miners.
The chairs are great, but your photos (especially the first one) more than contribute to highlighting their excentricity. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
Quite a different - but nice - way to illustrate what you would believe to be a place for very colourful Mexican art! Maybe a coming post?
Looks like a fine place to put one's feet up for a while...
what a fantastic response this week - much appreciated - loved reading all your comments...
