Recently I was in San Miguel for the weekend which is a beautiful colonial town with stunning architecture in ochres, russets, and terracotta. I have taken endless shots like the one above which display this aspect of the town in terms of the gorgeous colours and strong wrought iron features, but this time I got more than a little obsessed with the monochrome....
These are just ordinary black plastic chairs set out in the sun in front of a church for a concert....
..but the patterns and shapes and shadows became very addictive to photograph over and over again - don't you agree???
For more fun with shadows this week, check out Shadow Shot Sunday by clicking here..Enjoy!

These are really great, in very different ways: the contrast between shadow and vibrant color in the first, and the starkness of the chair photos. Great patterns in both.
Terrific, Catherine! Amazing how the same subject can be so completely different in each photo! The contrast is indeed fascinating! I love it! You are SO GOOD! Have a lovely weekend!

These pix really do relect a lot of different patterns and shapes, I don't think I would have noticed before.
These chairs and shadows feel as if they are instruments in an orchestra all by themselves. Arranged as they are, I hear a multitude of musical notes...
such playful shadows...that first image is quite interesting!
While I love the colourful photo at the top, I really LOVE your mosaics made up of chair photos. BRILLIANT!
Catherine,
Love the patterns of the shadows of the chairs. The first shot is really pretty, its hard to tell the shadows from the wrought iron.
thank you!
the last group of photos is my favorite. beauty is all around if you choose to look for it! nice shots
I do agree!! What fun you must have had. I am especially fond of wrought iron shadows, though. :-)

What intriguing patterns they make.
I so agree Catherine! My obsession is skies! I take endless shots, just because!
Yours of the cahirs are great! Love the symmetry and pattern!
awesome, awesome shadow shots!!
Yuo, yer hooked on shadows, it's a hard habit to break!!! Wonderful shots!
The monochrome patterns arranged in a collage are very effective and the pattern of the wrought iron against the colorful two tone wall is like a painting by a contemporary artist.
Your world looks bright and sunny, good for finding shadows.
The colours of the first shot and the creativity of all the other! All stunning.
You really do find the very best shadows! I so very much love both of these photos! Awesome Catherine! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
Great shots like cross stitch patterns, beautiful lines.
I would've done the same thing!!! Without hesitation! I love your obsession! What a visual treat!
Great shadows in a warm sunny Mexico.
Compare to a freezing Europe.
Enjoy & have fun on SSS day.
