Shadow Shot Sunday 118 - Promenade Des Anglais

The Promenade des Anglais in Nice sweeps the Baie des Anges and is indeed the perfect place to stroll to take in all those gorgeous Riviera shades of blue - the sea, the sky, the umbrellas, the seats.....but hang on a minute where are the eponymous English who should be on the "Promenade of the English?"??

Ah - here she is sitting down, taking a rest, and looking out to sea.......

For more shadow shots from around the world, click here for Shadow Shot Sunday - Enjoy!

You've got a serious case of the blues...and I mean this in the best possible manner. Dazzling hues of blue. Cool and hot at the same time.

I'd happily go out there and help her fill all those beach chairs.
Beautiful shots, Catherine. I'm glad to see your search for shadows hasn't suffered dislocation from relocation.

I've always loved that word "eponymous." Thank you for using it today and delighting my soul!

BITS OF SHADOW

Bits of shadow and blasts of light,
Morning and evening, noon and night;

Days of darkness, gloomy and drear;
Sometimes bright ones, bringing good cheer;

Spring or winter, summer or fall,
Light or shadow—embrace them all!

Ah, the azure sky and sea is stunning in its beauty. And given the strong sun, the summer shadows are strong too. The chairs are lined up and creating an abstract set of shadows on the sidewalk. What a fantastic place to relax!

It was pouring down rain here today... and then I see this !

So that is the Baie des Anges ? In Brittany there is a place named the Abbaye des Anges... on the Aber W'rach, the French equivalent of a fjord.
