Shadow Shot Sunday 122 - Nice

In Nice there is an Antiques Quarter located between Place Garibaldi and the port centred around the street named Catherine Segurane. Wandering along there the other day, I noticed this rather attractive door knocker casting its shadow. For more shadow shots this week, click here for Shadow Shot Sunday hosted by Tracy in Brisbane. Enjoy!

I've never seen such cool door knockers! I love these, they'd make cool earrings or necklaces.

I can't help but wonder if the rest of the person, who belongs to the hand, is standing behind the door. It is certainly an interesting door knocker and you have very good eyes to have caught the shadow that it casts. I hope your acclimatization to the niceties of Nice is proceeding well.

If you're going to have a door knocker, you might as well have one with flair!

SHADOW PLAY

Shadows like horses, shadow likes chicks,
Shadows like houses built with red bricks;

Shadows much taller than a high wall—
No matter their shape, I love them all!

The hand is a bit disarming (sorry!) as it sits on the door Do we knock or does the 'hand' inquire as to our requested entrance? The neat decoration makes us wonder...

That is really an interesting door knocker. (I like it's detail...even a ring!) It does cast a neat shadow too. Happy SSS.

The door feature is a work of art enhanced by the shadow! Beautiful!

what a great door knocker!! the hand is cold due to the nature of it's material but warm in the sun's brillance.

Hello Catherine

So good to see a fellow blogger in this region and with such lovely photos. Welcome to the south of France. I'm going to have fun looking back at your shots of our area.

I have www.mentondailyphoto.com and www.montecarlodailyphoto.com and I live in Gorbio, a medieval village above Menton. Perhaps we'll meet up one day?

There is another lovely blogger in Nice - Malyss' Chronicles from the Shore.

Peter from Paris (the adorable Peter from Paris!) told me about you.

love Jilly x
