Shadow Shot Sunday 146 - Cap D'Ail

The French Riviera is dotted with beautiful Belle Epoque villas from the turn of the century all featuring these charming architectural details. These delightful figures all adorn villas in my little town of Cap D'Ail, and I walk past them every day. Wouldn't you just love to have lived here in its Belle Epoque heyday??

Yes, I would've loved to have lived there back then -- but come to think of it, I would love to live there now!! Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend, Catherine! Enjoy!

Yes, I would like to live there NOW, too! Have been enjoying French Girl in Seattle - I like the sound of the way she teaches French!

What sweet detail work on these buildings! Yes...I, too, think it would be as good now as then.

The figurines seem lifeless unless we look carefully at them - close-up, the do have personalities! They greet us going by them to work, and greet (or console) us on our way home. Friendly, some of these building details add a spirit to the structure. Cool! Happy Easter!

Now or then... considering of course that everybody would not have the right to live in the more fabulous villas, except maybe as servants. ... The beautiful surroundings are in any case for everybody. :-)
