There seems an inherent contradiction in the term "Guerilla Knitting", used to describe the latest art intervention by Houston artist Magda Sayeg, which is currently parked at the Plaza Luis Cabrera in Colonia Roma, DF at the corner of Orizaba and Guanajuato.
Perhaps inspired by Bulgarian wrap artist Christo, famous for wrapping the Reichstag in Berlin and the Pont Neuf in Paris, the art work takes the form of a DF city collectivo covered completely in crochet in clashing colours - not even the wheels escape. More details can be found at http://www.knittaplease.com/. The Knitta crew was formed in August 2005 and in their own words they are "a tag crew of knitters bombing the inner city with vibrant, stitched works of art wrapped around everything from beer bottles on an easy night to public monuments on more ambitious outings". Indeed their work has stretched from wrapping the Golden Gate Bridge to the Great Wall of China!
This blog used to be about living in Mexico City and travelling throughout Mexico, but I have now moved to the French Riviera, living in Nice and working in Monaco.....Can the simple life be found here?? I will try and find out....

This must have taken forever to knit!
That is SO COOL! I wonder what happens when it rains....
Kristine- fortunately the knitted bus is quite safe as the rainy season ended at the beginning of November.
Fantastic- I love it. How quirky and clever - this is living art for sure. xv
OK, this posting clinches it. I am adding you to my "must read this blog" list!
