Colour and light here in Mexico are impossible to ignore, thus check out these shadow shots from the mining towns of Pachuca and Real de Monte - both rich in British history hence the legacy of the Cornish pasty in these parts brought by the Cornish miners...
With the one-storey cottages and corrugated iron roofs, the British influenced architecture may be more prosaic than the Spanish colonial of recent posts, but don't you just love the bright colours and the patterns of the tangle of overhead cables, wires, and telegraph poles...

Great shadows, wonderful colors. Ah, I miss Mexico...
The shapes of the buildings hav an old European/British style about them. But the bold colors have that Latin flair about them. Lovely is shape and color.
I've had a pasty or two on Cape Cod, and assume them to be as authentic as in England. However, prepared in the style of Britain and by Brits - perhaps a bit more authentic!
Love your shadows and the colours are wonderful!
The top ones look like a dragon is lurking!
You are right about that! Gorgeous colors and also fine ShadowShots.
I have always loved the bright and bold colors they use in Mexico. I think our paint companies are finally catching on to the appeal that vibrant colors have.
Nice color choices!
I look forward to your shadow shots because they are almost always colourful and also something I could not duplicate here in Canada.:)
Love that pink! The shadows are really quite lovely on the paint color. Why is it, pink and pistachio look great in Mexico, yet crazy in the states?!!
Happy SSS!
I never would've thought I'd ever own a pink house, let alone in Iowa...who knew!!!
I love those wonderful colours, gorgeous shadows.
Mexico has always had appeal to go there - love your shots :-)
I'm totally smitten with the colours of Mexico. I feel if I visited that my eyeballs would explode with happiness!
Re the polaroid effect of my photos: I took the photos using my iphone with a hipstamatic app. Lots of fun to play with :)
Behind the mauve walls
a woman wipes away tears
and stifles a sob.
SSS: Come, Light
Love the shadows you have captured here! And the colours are beautiful.
thanks for all your lovely comments this week - much appreciated...
Love all of your shots, so colourful, vibrant and full of content.
I never knew about the Cornish pastie connection, how bizarre.
