It is the meal over which I do most musing, meditating, and indeed a great deal of reading. On this particular occasion I was reading Orhan Pamuk's latest "The Museum of Innocence", and can highly recommend this novel to readers... Another of my favourite breakfast spots (very frequently visited) has to be "El Buen Cafe" in San Miguel de Allende - famed for their baked goods such as banana bread as well as the more hearty fare below...
...And you can sit for hours over the breakfast served at Casa Mora, Malinalco consisting of melon, papaya, fresh orange juice, huevos chorizos, refried beans, quesadillas con queso oaxaca, enchiladas, sweet rolls and pastries....
And why wouldn't you sit for hours when this is the view from the breakfast terrace....You will have to forgive me if a note of premature nostalgia starts to creep into my posts over the next six months, as I have decided to leave mexico this summer after six years here, and I am already making a list of oh so many things I am going to miss... I am a big fan of Mexican foods. It's so yummy. Reading your entry makes me hungry! I got to check inside of the fridge to see what is available!!!
So, you've given the heave-ho to the old English breakfast, haven't you? :-)
That definitely looks a treat. Especially the first two. Many thanks.
Happy New Year to you and yours!
Greetings from London
France definitely doesn't do Mexican food. That looks so mouth watering!

I saw the first photo and immediately thought "huevos rancheros"!! Wonderful!
Not so wonderful (for your fans) that you've decided to leave Mexico this year.
Wishing you well, wherever you are, and hoping you'll continue blogging.

Oh no Catherine! Leave Mexico? What will I do without your vivid, color-drenched posts? I guess I'll start preparing myself now. Sigh. As for breakfast, I love chiliques!
YUM!!! I'm generally not fond of breakfast, but I think I could quickly overcome that bias in Mexico.
Huevos rancheros - Breakfast of champions!
Oh I am drooling! That glorious looking food would be difficult to leave behind. I bet you will greatly miss it! Perhaps you can recreate those meals in your own home at your new place when you move? It's not quite the same as lounging around a sweet cafe though!
