Harking back with autumn nostalgia to just a few weeks ago when the beaches were full of sunworshippers soaking up the maximum of rays on a very late summer afternoon. Now it is Autumn and the seasons are changing, but I am looking forward to what those seasonal changes will bring to the Riviera. For more shadow shots from around the world, check out Tracey's Shadow Shot Sunday hosted so admirably down under in Brisbane. Enjoy!!

HAha, that's "my" beach in summer!I come here very early in the morning, before tourists' arrival.Glad to read that you had no problem in Cap d'Ail, in newspapers they wrote that a demonstration must take place there!
Isn't it nice with the seasons that change? Especially if you have the chance to live in a region where the winters normally are quite moderate.
Am trying really, really hard to concentrate on the shadows from the railing on the concrete, and not look beyond to the water and parasols and people in bathing suits... but am failing, failing miserably... :-)
Wow. Summer. Sun. Beach. French Riviera. You are one lucky lady, even if fall is coming and the weather has cooled off a bit. Don't hesitate to post more of these whenever you want. I will let Owen concentrate on the shadows. He is the photographer after all. ;-) Veronique (French Girl in SEattle)
Those curvy squiggly lines fill me with delight! The beach goers beyond fill me with the colour green.
LOvely shadow shots here.
You do come up with some interesting shadows--even quirky ones!--there in your new home.
SHADOW, WILL YOU?
Shadow, will you always be
Here where I can always see
What you do and how you play?
Or will you just slip away?

Sunflower Stippled with Shadows
The beach seems a distant memory for us here - yet on the Mediterranean, the beach goers are warm under the strong sun and azure sky. The fence is unique with its braided style and the shadows are strong and intricate. A warm view and unique shadow!
I would love being in your world filled with beaches and shadows.
Oh, I do love the beach! What great, fun shadow shots for the day, Catherine! Hope your weekend is going well -- although I can't imagine that it wouldn't go well!! Enjoy!

Beautiful beach scenes. Makes me wish I was there. Have a great day
Beautiful photo, I love the composition of light, shadow and line the beach in the background.
How pleasant is this? A fun day on the sandy beach...sunning. And the wrought iron shadows are great.
Off the Pier...shadows is my link, if you'd care to view.
Have a great day.
The wavy lines of the railing and shadows radiate the heat of the beach. I like this warm shadow shot!
Lovely shadow shots! I love all the wiggly lines!
Glad you added the explanation! I was sitting here thinking, "is it still warm enough there to be doing that?' So inviting, though, and WARM.
What an interesting railing. Love the shadows it created!
How cold will it actually get there?
Well captured!
I have George's shadow. Please come and see when you get a chance.
I never like to leave beach memories too far behind, so I appreciate this pix. I did the very same on my recent post, only I actually went back to the beach in Nassau to stave off encroaching winter weather!
Hi Catherine - this is my first visit to your lovely blog which I found through Keith over at "A Tast Of Garlic" - I love your header which brings back memories of my recent trip to that magical corner of the world - so much to capture there.
I am enjoying your Nice photos! I am particularly liking
your collage compositions - are the paintings whole paintings, or have you photographed parts, then
collaged, I wonder?
